User password


I help the user change the password (eg. Abc 123), the system then pop up ˇ§BAD PASSWORD: it is too simplistic/systematicˇ¨ , but i really want to use this password , what can i do? Thx.

normally that message is simply a warning, and the password will change anyway.

that one's gotten me before too. you actually end up having to type the password in 3 times.

what's the distribution you're using? Slackware will only give you a warning but maybe some others will give you a real error.

Also, are you trying to do it in "real" command line or with GUI?
