USB External harddrive
 
Hi all,

Please excuse my questions:


I have Redhat 3.0 and I have an USB External that I need to transfer soem files over. could someone please give me the full intructions of how to do this?????

DO I have to install the USB driver????

there will be no usb driver for it, it will work fine based on what you have already got installed. as long as you have the usb-storage module loaded, then I'd confident that just plugging it in would recognise it as a scsi drive, creating /dev/sda and the partition devices, /dev/sda1, sda2 etc...

I assume you mean RHEL3, not acutally redhat 3.0. if this really is redhat 3, from like 1994, then you may as well give up now.
