It's too open ended a question.

How are your file systems configured, do you have another machine you can use as a scratch machine while upgrading?
Where are your configuration files? On the machine, do you have mirroring? What (else) do you have installed? Can you make a kickstart machine?

The simple answer to your question is :

1) insert redhat 7.2 cd
2) boot, select 'Upgrade'
3) Fetch coffee.

I don't recommend it though. There are enough differences in 6.2 and 7.2 (like.. everything) to make an upgrade problematic for a critical machine.

If your data is contained in separate disk systems, and you don't have another machine to use as a scratch, and your system files are contained on one disk I would advise
1) back up your configuration files, or make them available elsewhere - stuff in /etc/ is a good start.
2) downing the machine,
3) remove that disk, insert new disk, install new 7.2
4) 'recover' your configurations. They're not necessarily going to work with a straight copy though, and you might have to diff your old with your new to see what's changed in them.

In short, read the manual, read up on problems other people have had, and if you can try doing a test the install on another machine to see what problems *you* are going to run up against. But again.. I'd not recomment the 'upgrade' function of the setup program.

Slick.

I want a fresh installation of redhat 7.2 and keeping the redhat 6.2 configuration.. is it possible ?
