Unabled to recover deleted files in GalliumOS

I have galliumos on a chromebook and I deleted some files, but when I go into the bin directory using the gui, is empty. I tried searching in the /home/user/.local/share/Trash directory, but that doesn't exist. Where's the bin directory in GalliumOS?

Thanks

Hi,
you don't say what files you deleted where. You can recovery files in ext4, *most* probably the filesystem used in galliumos. But it's not easy and you should boot from another medium, e.g. USB stick or CD/DVD.
Maybe try these tools:
http://extundelete.sourceforge.net/
http://superuser.com/questions/17085...ext4-partition
photorec or foremost might do the trick.

basically, I need to do a recovery of those files as they're not accesible from the OS... that's what I figure. Yes I'm using ext4.

I still don't quite understand.
If you delete files via some explorer-like thingy, there is *an option* that files are moved to a trash can. But that doesn't have to be and, if files are deleted by console or so, they are not going into a trash can of sorts. They are deleted from the hard drive and have to be recovered, either by undelete tools mentioned before or by scaping for file types with photorec or foremost.

Best regards,
Upuetz
