unable to use shift + insert to paste and copy using text selection


Hi,

Can you please let me know what can be done to enable the "select text to copy" and "shift+insert to paste" features in linux.

Shift + insert works fine if you actually select and copy text.
Or you can select then middle click with the mouse.

I am unable to use select and middle click. It does not work. It was working sometime back.
