unable to connect bluetooth dongle to phone

hi all,

i have connected a bluetooth dongle to my laptop (with debian etch). the gnome BT manager is detecting it and working fine.
$dmesg

ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:02.0[A] -> Link [LNKA] -> GSI 11 (level, low) -> IRQ 11
[drm] Initialized i915 1.5.0 20060119 on minor 0
[drm] Initialized i915 1.5.0 20060119 on minor 1
usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
usb 2-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
Bluetooth: HCI USB driver ver 2.9
usbcore: registered new driver hci_usb

i am also able to pair the dongle with my phone (nokia ngage)

but, when i try to connect it with my phone, the connection is refused.
error:
