Ugrade kernel on a live cd ubuntu

I have a live cd of xubuntu 6 that won't boot on any of my newer machines.
Is it possible to upgrade the kernel on the disk so the latest hardware drivers are available?

Thanks

You would need to do a re-master of Xubunbtu 6. Is there any particular reason why you are using 6 instead of the latest version?

Running zoneminder 1.23.3 witch is installed on this disk/iso I have.
The latest versions of Ubuntu repos only have the newer version of Zoneminder and it seems buggy to me.
So A re-master will work?
Any tips on how this is done?

I can't say for certain if it will work. Re-Mastering is the method used to make your own custom *buntu distro.

Good luck!

Oh, and when you remaster, you need a working Ubuntu installation, so you have to install Ubuntu first (on a machine that will connect to the Internet with it).

I have given up. Time is not on my side any longer as I don't have any. Much too busy with other things that make the bank account happy.
Is any one interested in a job concerning the above. Getting and old ISo to boot and install on a newer system?
