Ubuntu v9.10 Boot Problem
Very strange problem, I've searched forums for several hours and have not found this exact issue. Any help is much appreciated.
Setup:
* Ubuntu version 9.10
* Simple partitioning, single OS, single harddrive, just Ubuntu installed (sda1 = Linux, sda2 = extended, sda5 = swap)
* GRUB version 1.97beta4
The issue is:
1) In order for my system to boot properly, I have to go into the boot menu (f12), option 2 (boot from hard disk), then manually select the kernel to boot via the GRUB menu.
2) Once the system has booted, I can repeatedly restart the system without doing step1 and everything works fine. Once the system is shutdown, I have to do step1 again.
Not a huge problem, but annoying because if I am not there to do step1, the system will not boot (i.e. power outage).
Thanks for any help. Hopefully its obvious to someone.
