Ubuntu FTP Install


Hey, I've been running linux for over a year know and love it, but i wan't to try the new Ubuntu distrobution 6.06.... the problem is that the ISO doesn't fit on my 650mb CD-RW's and i don;t want to go out and buy cd's... I know how to do this with other distros but how does one go about installing ubuntu from FTP..... thanx in advance for all help

You could always order free ubuntu cds from http://shipit.ubuntu.com

Yes but I'd much rather install it from FTP........ anybody?????

I found a really easy way to do it. Go to http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dis...mages/netboot/ and download mini.iso this is a network boot image that has all the FTP site pre configured couldn;t be easy er..... although the only onbe that worked for me was the united kingdom mirrior, which wasn't a bad thing as it seemed to be a fast mirrior....

if you have by chance the breezy cd of ubuntu distro, you can download the dapper sources.list
copy it into the /etc/apt

and then, you might type:
apt-get dist-upgrade

that'll upgrade your distro to dapper

(+ or -)
