Ubuntu 14.04 lts, log of audio events?
Aloha, last night (3:00 am) and I think at least once before, my computer made several loud beeping sounds (almost like a smoke detector) via the powered speaker (I think, because it was so loud, so not the sytem speaker) plugged into the audio jack. I sure didn't want it to do that (woke me up) and I am trying figure why this happened.
I've tryed reading many of the logs found under /var but none of them seem to contain the info I am looking for. Is there a log that tracks audio events? My guess is probably not. So if not, is there a way to create one ?
I realize that I can turn off the computer or the speaker before I go to sleep but those simple solutions won't work for me because I have a program (TWS, Trader Work Station, from Interactive brokers) that I do create alarms with that respond to price action in the financial markets. Last night that program was turned off and the markets were closed yet this loud beeping occurred so I really doubt that TWS has anything to do with it.
