Two issues: groff not working properly and updated glib being installed not noticed..

The issue with man:
zarkhalar@synic:~/Sources/cups-1.2.x$ man stat
groff: can't find `DESC' file
groff:fatal error: invalid device `latin1'

I've reinstalled man, I've reinstalled groff. If you know why it does that, let me know x_X

Also, I'm trying to install firefox, which needs pango for the install windows, which needs glib 2.4+ to work. So I got and installed glib-2.5.1, with a standard configure, make, make install. For some reason it didn't work. Anyone know if there are some options I need to specify, reboot, or anything like that?
