Question Turtle beach montego II

Can someone help. The only way I get sound is log in as root, go to the directory where aureal is, and doing the “make install”. And everything works great. I can logout as root, then login as myself and the sound still works. If I reboot then is gone. I have to "make clean" and re do all again. How can I fix this.
