ttf fonts fo X11
i've copied several ttf font to /usr/lib/X11/fonts/ttf directory, and created font.dir file. mozilla firefox displays all the fonts properly. now i wanted change terminal font in gterm. i've created symlink to the directory containing ttf fonts in ~/.fonts, but i still cannot use them. i did the same thing on my previous Debian installation and it worked. what's wrong now?

What version of gterm do you use? If it's a GTK2 version, can you use your newly installed ttf fonts in other GTK2 apps?

...and what happens when you run fc-cache -v to rescan the font dirs? If you get a write error in the newly created directory that might be it. In that case, simply copy the fonts to your own ~/.fonts directory instead of using a symlink.
