Trying to get Thunderbird to open urls by using Firefox 0.9

Hello

I recently downloaded Firefox 0.9 and I find it to be a great browser. I then went and got the latest version of Thunderbird, and I am having problems opening urls in my Thunderbird emails when I try to use Firefox. Thunderbird saves the url as a temp file and then Firefox opens it as a tmp file, not a url. I then have to close Firefox to open another url as I get a message saying Firefox default profile is already open. This is a real pain. I tried some of the scripts on the Mozilla website and none seem to work.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Clive

You say you have already looked on the Mozilla forums, well all I can tell you is that this script worked for me

Hi Pete

Thanks for your response. I followed the instructions on the url you gave me and created the openlink.sh script as suggested. Well when i click on a url in a Thunderbird email, a box come up which says should I open this file with /usr/bin/links or other. I said other (as the /usr/bin/links does not work) and pointed it at the openlink.sh script. That did not work either.
Any further suggestions would be appreciated.

If you're using Gnome run gnome-default-applications-properties and set Firefox as your browser and Thunderbird as your mail client. If you're using KDE, try this http://www.mozilla.org/projects/thun...linuxurls.html
