Hello!

I am trying to install Linux with an SD card via an internal SD card reader on my MacBook Pro. When booting and pressing 'C', the system hangs forever. When booting and pressing 'Option', the same thing happens. Doesn't seem to be working.

I used
to put the image on the SD card. The image itself was verified with MD5. It should be noted that Mac OS X can not read the SD card (bringing up an error) and installing rEFIt (a bootloader toolkit) and attempting to boot the computer results in yet another hang.

Can't figure this out. Very tired of OS X, would like to install Linux again.

If this is a sdhc card and your card reader is a couple of years old, buy an usb external w/r designed for the newer sdhc and extreme cards.

If this is not the problem make sure the card is alright and will boot another computer.

It's only a 256 MB SD card with a netinstall .iso of Arch. The SD card is confirmed working in my digital camera. The computer is relatively new (~June 2010).

...and the only other computer in the house is a Mac as well.

You can find external usb readers from $2 up and if you search the forums there have been a couple of threads with this same problem and it has been the internal reader. I have the same problem but mine is about four years old. I keep watching and hoping someone can come up with a simple solution.

I have an external DVD drive, but it isn't getting the job done either... It stops doing 'stuff' (for lack of a better term) at "ISOLINUX 3.86 ETCD" and then actually reboots my computer after a while (this kinda shocked me, didn't know ISOLINUX could do that).

I've tried just about everything I can think of/have access to.
