Trouble finding correct alsa driver to use for Intel chipset

I have multiple work computers that I am setting linux up on. I am having trouble setting up alsa, as all of the computers have onboard sound. When I do lspci here is the output that I get:

00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corp. 82815 815 Chipset Host Bridge and Memory Controller Hub (rev 02)
00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corp. 82815 815 Chipset AGP Bridge (rev 02)
00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corp. 82801BA/CA/DB PCI Bridge (rev 01)
00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corp. 82801BA ISA Bridge (LPC) (rev 01)
00:1f.1 IDE interface: Intel Corp. 82801BA IDE U100 (rev 01)
00:1f.4 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82801BA/BAM USB (Hub #2) (rev 01)
00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corp. 82801BA/BAM AC'97 Audio (rev 01)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV5 [RIVA TNT2/TNT2 Pro] (rev 15)
02:08.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corp. 82801BA/BAM/CA/CAM Ethernet Controller (rev 01)

Does anyone have any idea what alsa driver I would need to use and how I would go about installing that driver? I have only limited experience with alsa, and mostly it has been just plug and chug. Thanks for all of your help in advance

in a terminal run alsaconfig as root.
try the i810_audio module.

after that run alsamixer, unmute and set default volumes.

after that run alsactrl store, to save your settings after reboot.
good luck.
