Triple Boot - Win2K, Suse Linux & my own linux

Hi all,
Well i got myself an extra 120G HDD. Now i have Win2K & Suse 8.2 already installed on my primary HD taking up all the space. Dual booting with Lilo.

So i want to use this extra HDD for my setup of running a complete new Linux OS there . Where by i want the option to load either Win2K (Rarely), Suse 8.2(Primary desktop env) or My new linux install(The playground :) ).

All of them should be available from the same bootloader lilo which is already installed to dual book my other two OS's.

Any good strategies on how to get this done.
Which Linux Distro i can use as a starting point for my New linux install? I want the basics there so i can attempte to do a complete compile of various stuff i need.

Thanks
Pavan

Offhand, I would say Slackware. It has a simple packaging system (no dependency checks). The cd boots you to a shell first so you can play around with it, then you can run setup.
