transparent panels
can anyone tell me how i can get KDE or GNOME to have transparent panels like shown in this link...

Easy, go to:
Start > Control Center > Look and Feel > Style > Effects > Menu Effect and then select "Make Translucent". John |

Although i dont run KDE i guess google.com and kde-look.org is a good start.
