Is there any tools like frontpage for linux ?

pickledbeans 07-07-2002 12:23 PM

You can get front page extension for Apache.
Do you mean is there any bloated, bug ridden, drag and dop tools ... NO :)

On the oher hand thee is Apache, PHP, Python, Perl, Zope .........

BYA 65% of ALL web servers run Apache.

I mean tools like Micro$oft frontpage which can do webpage easily?

pickledbeans 07-07-2002 12:35 PM

OH you just looking for an editor then ? You need to define what is you what you need, something to just create webpages? Or manage a entire site?

Search on http://freshmeat/net for html editors or blog or content management.

Package like Zope, phpNuke, postNuke, ezcontents make it pretty easy
to create and manage websites. Put them up and see what you think.

Bluefish is the closest you can get.

I've been using Quanta for about a year and half now and it's freakin' sweet!
It's not a wysiwyg but it IS the best tool for making web pages in Linux ever.

you can check it our on sourceforge...

in fact I built my radio station with quanta... http://www.mp3-777.com/

I agree with Muddy, Quanta is the best for Linux.....

Quanta is an awesome tool, but there is a caution against it when using it with KDE 3. If you have KDE 2 on your system (alone or with KDE 3), then there should be no problem with running Quanta. If KDE 2 is not on your system, then I don't believe that Quanta will work.
