Question TightVNC Java Client Shows Mouse Trails

I got the TightVNC Java Client working through Apcache2 on Debian Sarge, connecting to the TightVNC Server on same computer which presents the user with a GDM login remote login prompt. It works fine except that it leaves a trail behind the mouse until the part of the screen where the trail was is redrawn by the server or the entire screen is manually refreshed by the client. I have been searching this forum, several others, and Google, and have found nothing about this problem, though I'm not too good at this so that's no great indication... Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it.

Here is an image of the problem.

Thanks in advance.
