The used memory of application is increasing. Free space decreasing. Help needed.

I am developing one application on FEDORA core 2 as well as on RED HAT 9: K2.4, in which I am statically allocating the variables, which I am calling externally throughout the application.
I am using a RAM of 256MB. The total size of the disk I am using is 512MB(flash disk). On which I am using the swap memory of 150mb. The size of my application is 9.5MB. When I am running the application, the size of the application under execution increases and thus the memory consumption is much more. The free memory decreases. And after certain point, the complete OS hangs. For the proper functioning of my application I have to reboot the machine directly.
I am ascertained about the slab allocator and thus there is no any issue to point out from the operating side. There is some problem in my application but I am not able to trace it. Please help me with the generalize as well as specific solutions. Plz do the needfull asap..........

I'd suggest using a memory debugger such as Valgrind or Electric Fence. it's clear that you have a memory leak somewhere in your code, and these programs can help you track it down.
