First, to the title: I would not want to be convincing anyone to use Linux---**especially** my wife. She does use it, but only because I do. She understands that if she wants Windows, she has to set it up and maintain it herself. Given the probability of that happening, she uses Linux. (and does just fine...)

Minitab: Have you searched to see if it is supported? If you can't find links for WINE, go to Codeweavers and see if CrossOver Office supports it.

good luck. looks like you can get minitab working under wine, and there are links to linux applications that do the same thing.

enjoy.

i would also check into Sabayon instead of Kubuntu as a distro for her. gives you more power over the OS as you have full linux not a gimped vs of linux that the buntu project provides.

No luck, the minitab 15 return me This:-

.
The version I use is demo version from Minitab official website. And I'd applied the 15dlls too.

Any more suggestion?

try one of the alternatives i linked above. maybe one will have the ability to import minitab data, or will work close enough to what you wife is used to that she can change applications.

It's witch desktop enviroment she runs and kde out windows windows even on it's worest day
as long as you install and maintane it what dose it matter to her ?

or you could offer to sleep in the wet spot if she runs linux

kstan, I'm sure you can find an equivalent to minitab for linux. I've seen an engineer use an alternative to Matlab in linux. There must be one for minitab as well.

Just a suggestion. Good luck
