The GIMP is gimped.
 

Every time I try to use "script-fu" to generate funky text with the GIMP, it crashes--I don't mean that SIGSEV box I get every time I try to use LILOconf's "probe" feature, it just closes the program. Doesn't prompt me to save my unsaved work in other images, either.

Those are all the symptoms I have right now. I don't know what's up with it. My box has been acting up a lot lately--first httpd wouldn't start, so I reinstalled Linux. httpd then worked fine. Next, it was MySQL, forcing another reinstall. Now it's the GIMP. I don't want to reinstall, because next it'll probably be linuxconf or StarOffice.

i'd say just try to reinstall the gimp. it would help, tho, if you could get the gimp to generate any error messages. try running it from a terminal, and try to crash it. that way, any error messages it creates aren't lost.
