Hi there! I've decided to learn Linux OS, mainly to administrate and to program in C. I've found gcc a great alternative to the highly priced borland/microsoft products. First thing which I did, I bought a Linux Bible 2009 edition. Unfortunately, I've found it absolutely useless. It doesn't explain about file structures, how the system works, etc. Everything is written for a complete dummie. In addition, author assumes that somebody had already installed a system for you. Nevertheless, I've managed to install Ubuntu simply by following instructions on the screen. Now I'm struggling to sell that "Bible" and I don't really want to spend more money on books. There is all sorts of help available online, but it is not structured in a way I'd like it to be (or maybe I didn't find it yet). However, there is one online book which I particularly liked, but it is a bit outdated:

I would appreciate if somebody would share something similar, up to date!
Before posting this thread I've done my little research. For somebody who is looking for some help in a particular aspect of using OS, here are some links which I've found useful.
