I don't think I would uninstall it, unless you are really that pressed for space, in which case it would still seem to be an "essential" program. Maybe try removing X or something non-essential. TeTex is part of the basic LFS setup, so I don't know if I would touch it.

Cool

Isn't taTex a unix version of Tex, laTex and so on?
If you don't use them,
why not remove them?
I'm a poet! but back to our issue I think you should be safe
removing it. (unless the info command needs it)

If I'm right , it's a program to compile .dvi files
there like postscript or pdf , it's a document format
which is basicaly used for math papers , because
it includes easy formatting of equations.

That's the use of laTex and Tex I know of, but in linux
I think the info command uses it for something.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Sweet, but if you aren't on a critical system, and can afford losing certain text features long enough to find out what happens when you remove it, why not? I mean:
pkgtool
And remove it. If there's issues:
pkgtool
And reinstall it.

Might be worth a try if you are worried about space...

Cool
