Terminals for dummies


Where can I find an overview of linux terminals?
I'd like smth about "for lammers", "for dummies" or smth similar

That all depends on what type of terminal you mean? Do you mean a text console program running on your machine? Do you mean 'what commads can I used in a terminal'? Or are you talking about external serial terminals, like the ones used in many libraries? Could you be a little more specific, please.

Sure.
I'm generally interested in its architecture and use.
I mean answer to a questions "I've got many tty-s in my /dev. What for? How can they help me in my work? How can I use them?"

I'd also like to know a few things like:

What sort of programs (specifics and in general) can I use to:

Browse the net (Lynx?)
mp3's, music
Text Documents (Vi?)

etc.

Experiance sitting on virtual termainals by pressing
CTRL+ALT+F1 to CTRL+ALT+F6 (most probable default configuration)
