terminal program
I use win2k hypter terminal to connect to my cisco router. I have the abilty to be able to adjust my serial connection speed and etc under the hyper terminal program. I am new to Linux. I am slowly crossing over to the dark side. What program in linux in similiar to windows hyper terminal and if there is no program under the GUI then how do I conect serially to my router? Please help!

As I understand it, HyperTerminal uses port 23 by default so all it is really is a telnet client. You can do this from a linux shell:
telnet whateveryourroutersipis

That the problem, I have not configured a ip address for my router. I need to connect to them through the console port which connect from my serial port on my laptop to the port on the router to be able to setup the router with an IP address and etc...
