tar problems ...


I have a tgz file that I can't untar ...

tar: This does not look like a tar archive
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: Archive contains obsolecent base-64 headers
tar: Read 3047 bytes from mulinux-14r0.tgz
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

It's the mulinux base floppy: http://mulinux.sunsite.dk/download.html

I'm just doinf tar xf mulinux* right now, but I've had troubles before. Can anyone help? Thanks!

You sure you followed those notes? I just used wget to download the tarball and it extracted fine.

If it's a tgz file, then use zxf as your tar options.
