tar ball uninstall?

Hey guys

I know the process of installing tar ball files. However How do you uninstall a tar ball file if you want to get rid of that particular program from you machine?

it is fairly rare for a package to have a target 'uninstall'

mostly you just have to delete stuff by hand

sometimes rerunning make install and reading the output can show you where the files are
