system hang


If the RH linux always hang , except hardware problem , what is the most possible reason ? what I should do such as upgrade to fix it ?thx

more info please. any messages? where does it hang? something must come up on the screen. are you pressing the power button? does it post? does it get to lilo/grub/bootloader? does the kernel start to load? what is appearing on the screen?

A hardware problem can be a very significant reason for system freezing...But you haven't mentioned at what point does your system hang up ? Did you happen to delete any files after which this problem started ?

Let us know more details about your issue ..only then we will be able to suggest something..
