my system clock (by looking in BIOS) is set 5 hours ahead of actual time. KDE is displaying the right time. i am on the east coast which, if memory serves, is GMT-5 when it isn't DST. so i guess my linux box is thinking that the system clock is in GMT but I don't want the sysclock in GMT because then Windoze thinks it is 5 hours ahead of itself.
i'm pretty sure that linux is updating the system clock every time it exits, but it is updating it to GMT not to EST.
ls -l /etc/localtime
Code:
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root root 30 Jan 31 22:11 /etc/localtime -> /usr/share/zoneinfo/US/Eastern
this is a Gentoo system.
what else should I try?
