Switching Between Languages

My girlfriend is taking a Korean language class in which she is occationally required to type in Korean. Is there a way (if so, how?) to switch to a different mode to type in this other language within Linux (other than reinstalling my OS and choosing the other language)? I guess this could be an OS question (for a global change) or a software specific change (such as only within OpenOffice). Either will do. Thank you for any help on this.

Mike

If it's JUST the keyboard map you want to change then using setxkbmap should work. I think both gnome and kde support using key combinations (like SHIFT + ALT) to switch between languages and locales.
