swap partition alignment

I noticed the swap partitions on some of my servers are misaligned and wondered: is there any benefit to fixing this so they start, for example, at 1M offsets? I understand the impact of partition alignment on mounted file systems but I'm not sure if things are similar for swap space. Are they?

Does your system use the swap partition?

I have a few systems running and only those with 500MB of RAM use swap space (The minimum amount in the rest is 3GB).

In case your system uses swap space, if it is rarely used, you should not have problems. Anyway, removing and aligning a swap partition won't be much trouble.
