suse10 will not boot to graphics mode


in the boot log I get an error saying
startproc: exit status of parent of /usr/bin/powersaved: 127 failed

also get

Failed services in runlevel 5: powersaved
Skipped services in runlevel 5: nfs smbfs xdm

This was a working install and then I ran the updates suggested by the update manager, rebooted and now this

with chkconfig put them off. Perhaps that'll help. .Or if they are off allready then put them on.
