SuSE Installation CDs on hard drive
Hi,
I'm trying to copy the three SuSE 9.0 images to my hard drive within SuSE so that I can install packages from the CDs whenever I'd like. I've already copied the entire contents of the CDs onto my hard drive and have made iso files out of the directories: mkisofs -vrTJUV "Disc 1" disc1.iso /home/suse/Disc 1/ Like that. Then I tried mounting the images like this: mount -o loop disc1.iso /mnt/suseimage Then I went into YaST and went to "Change Source of installation" and added the /mnt/suseimage directory to the list and disabled /dev/cdrom so it should force it to use /mnt/suseimage. But it didn't work and I'm a little lost. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ! |
I assume that it was mounted when you tried to add that directory? It states that
you can simply copy the CDs to your HD, however, trying to copy it as an ISO image that is mounted may not be possible. I would send a support request to Suse. Let me know, that sounds like a good idea. R.O. |
