SuSE boot problem grub and 2.6.3
I installed SuSE 9.0 from ftp and then upgraded kernel to 2.6.3 with a nice config/make modules/make modules_install install
I rebooted and grub is set up to boot the new kernel. Now my grub menu has always had three options. Linux, Windows, and Failsafe. In failsafe there is a list of default boot options that come up.
If I boot to just Linux I get a few lines that fly by and then my screen goes black. I see nothing. The hard drive light goes nuts for a few though so I think it is booting, but I can't tell.
If I select failsafe I get a good boot with a few errors with sshd, cups, and acpi failing. I can then get into KDE fine and all seems basically well.
What I am trying to figure out is why I can't see what is going on in the default Linux boot.
Any ideas as to what is going on?
Thanks
