I’m having some problems installing SuSE 9.0 on an older system I have. I’m going by their install instructions here:
ftp://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/d...9.0/README.FTP . First I tried to download the boot.iso file. I burned it and tried to boot. I got this error message:
“ISOLINUX 2.06 0x3fa890af isolinux:
Cannot boot from this CD. Please use CD2 or try a BIOS update.”
In the docs I’ve read, there is no CD2 and this machine is so old I doubt I could find a BIOS update. So instead, I moved to the floppy boot. I went and downloaded the bootdisk file, and modules1 and modules3 like instructed. I insert the boot disk I created using rawrite and I get this error message:
“SYSLINUX 2.06 0x3fa890af Copyright © 1994-2003 H. Peter Anvin
Loading…
Boot failed: please change disks and press a key to continue.”
Can anybody help me here? I’m not really sure what I’m doing wrong. I don’t see where these module disks come in anyway. The install instructions don’t say anything past downloading them.
