Suse 6.2 good???

Hi there

I've been looking to get Suse 8.2 but I just found the Old one(6.2) from my friend. Now Im wondering if I use it...Will it be like im using the Win 95 when the world is using Win XP?

Someone told me I could use it with the latest kernel version (supposedly 2.4.20.18??) ...so in that way it'll make it (suse 6.2) compatible with the current linux software.

I waited for this chance to use Suse (even if its old) ,If it is possible to Install and then change the kernel...then thats good!!.

Thnx in Advance..

I heard they are in bed with the SCO. Maybe it's heresay but I won't touch a distro that doesn't offer downloads and sides with the enemy. (to stave off flames about freeloading let the record show that I use RH 9 and have a paid subscription to the RHN). If you already have the 6.2 version, give it a shot. You can always recompile a newer kernel for it and download new versions of KDE, Gnome, or whatever you want to use. All the newer version means is that they have done the upgrading for you already.

I don't think SuSE is helping SCO at all, I never read about it anywhere. SCO went after SuSE a while ago anyway.
