storage simulators in linux

hi all
I need some information about storage simulators. I've got to simulate file system environment so that i can define my own inode structure, file structure and store the files on disk. The only way for this i could find out is to change the existing ext2/3 file systems.. Besides this are there any storage simulators where i can define the filesystem structures.. Basically i want to simulate the file storage system on the disk .
thnx for any help in advance

bye
a linux lover

I'm not sure I understand what you are after ...

One thing you can always do is make a file
a loop-back device and format that with what
ever filesystem you please ...

Cheers,
Tink
