stop services in SuSE 9.0
Since there isn't a SuSE 9.0 subforum anymore...I was wondering if this is the right place for this question.
1. How do you stop a service/daemon in SuSE 9.0? In the RedHat distro you do #service <service/damon> stop like if you want to stop samba server you just do #service smb stop 2. How do you prevent a service/daemon from loading at start up? In RedHat you just to #chkconfig smb off (you can specify your runlevels but that's the main idea) I don't find those utilities in SuSE 9.0. I can't even find the locate, slocate commands, or whereis or which in SuSE. any tips will help. Randomx |
yast->system->runlevel editor->expert mode. that will display all services and their runlevels. highlight and edit.
