stop outgoing spam
Hi, I'm running a default-ish mail server (ubuntu 6.06, postfix, sendmail & squirrelmail) and I'm having problems with people sending tons of spam via squirrelmail. I haven't been able to find a way to stop that yet.
I apt-geted spamassassin but even when its daemon is running nothing seems to happen to either incoming or outgoing emails. Any suggestions? Thanks! |
you would need to configure your mta to actually USE spamassassin... seems like you've not actually looked to configure anything at all.. you even say you have TWO smtp servers running, postfix and sendmail.. that's not possible. and maybe i'm missing somethign here, but how do you send spam through a web mail client? spam is sent by bulk mailers, but people cutting and pasting into a webmail client.

i do have postfix and sendmail I thought postfix was for receiving and sendmail for sending... I was never able to find a good guide explaining all of that (and believe me I have searched).
Anyways some users send spam through squirrelmail by just sending some dumb email to a ton of receipients. |
Here is a link to the Squirrelmail Plugins page. You might be interested in the Restrict Senders plugin.
