Step-by-step procedure to make a Live CD?
:Pengy:
Hello, I'm thinking of converting one of the Linux distribution I have on one of my partitions into a Live CD and boot it and work from the CD just like it was on my hard drive. I know this is possible, I just need to be pointed to those sophisticated tools and documentation to get me started. Thanks much! |
This is the guide I used to create my live CD. It's pretty straightforward.

Re: Live CD
This is a good start. Excellent information for starters. Thank you very much. The only problem is my partition is at least 2G (about 1.8 gigs). I have to figure out how to compress this partition and run it off compressed in a CD. Anybody got any ideas?
Also I tried Knoppix and Yoper and I am so awed at the technique they use to configure the hardware on bootup. The problem is I don't know where to start as far as getting documentation on how to do this and the tools needed to make this kinda stuff??? |
no offence but your probably better off just sticking with downloading Knoppix and other livd CD's as making one (imho) is not ever remotely worth it. it take a LOT of time and ask Acid_kewpie as I beleive he knows. it's a LOT of work man
lata Mitch p.s. if you still want to do so, good luck to you and post your progress here ;) |
