StartX ..session?

Friends,

I have RH es3 and when ever I startx ... upon the xwindows GUI opening .. i also get many windows - shells and such from "once upon a time".
I think ( maybe ) I have a saved session and it always 'picks-up' where it left off.
( it always wants to download gimp ...yada yada )

Do you think that this is a 'session' and whatever it is--- how do i stop it.

meaning ; when i startx ... i just want it to come up without opening into a state of "once upon a time".

Close all the windows that you don't want to appear when you log in, then click log out, and when you're presented with the logout box, check the box at the top that says "Save current setup", then click ok. Next time you log in, it should be how you set it the last time you logged out.
