Startup log info

Hi!

When linux starts there is a lot of info about all kind of stuff just scrolling up very quickly.
I'd like to look more carefully at that info.
Is there a log file where all this information goes ?
How could I enable this ?

use the 'dmesg' command or look in var/log for a file like boot.msg
