Starting services from terminal

hey, i am running Mandrake 10.0 and by mistake i disabled starting xfs (x font server) on boot lol so now mandrake wont boot to the gui it will only boot to the terminal in my home directory, so what i'm thinking is i start the service (xfs) from the terminal, then startx to get back into the gui and fix it and make xfs start on default again lol sounds easy but idk how to start services from the terminal...:(

thanks..
