Question Start up scripts?

How can I make one of my C, Bash, Perl, etc. programs run every time the system starts. I have recently found that simply putting it in /etc/init.d won't work.

Thanks for the help

bye.

you can put the script in /etc/rc.local
depending on your distribution the location can be different
