SSH login wierd... Why is that?

Ok.. I couldnt think about any other way to describe this... when I log into SSH on my server (server.org) first it shows at the top of my terminal window server.org... just like its supposed to... then I login and it says '[user@101/udp user]$' Where did the 101/udp come from? Lately I have been having problems with my mail... it keeps on thinking its domain is 101/udp when it is not. I looked in '/etc/hosts' and everything is as it should be.. nothing about 101/udp. My mail keeps rejecting mail that I try to send out because it doesnt know what 101/udp is... All I need to know is why my server is doing this, and how do fix it. Any Ideas??? Thanks a ton!!

It would help to know what distro that server is
running, whether those settings are all yours to
change or not... there's more than /etc/hosts to
determining things like a mail-address from.

Sorry... I was kinda in a hurry... Redhat 9.0 and the settings are mine to change... /etc/hosts was the first thing that came to mind... one day it just showed that when I logged into ssh, and ever since then it has been acting wierd. Thanks for the help!

Hey Tinkster,
the matter has been fixed. It was a simple command of 'hostname server.org' Thanks for your help and your time.

But that may only be valid for this session/until next reboot? ;)

Check your sysconfig directory for the right entries, I think
it's in /etc/sysconfig/network

In /etc/sysconfig/network everything looks right.... right IP, right domain... It looks good. Anything else that you can think of that might be at fault?

Thanks,
