Hello !!

I uses squirrelmail on RHEL4 and and have no problem.
But now I am trying to use it on suse 10 . Its not working
I am using ,
MTA postfix
imap /etc/xinetd/imamp
, apache2 and squirrelmal

When I try to log in throug squirrmail , it gives following error

ERROR:
Bad request: The IMAP server is reporting that plain text logins are disabled. Using CRAM-MD5 or DIGEST-MD5 authentication instead may work. Also, the use of TLS may allow SquirrelMail to login. Please contact your system administrator and report this error.

Below is the my /etc/xinted/imap file

service pop3
{
disable = no
socket_type = stream
protocol = tcp
wait = no
user = root
server = /usr/sbin/ipop3d
flags = IPv4
}

#
service imap
{
disable = no
socket_type = stream
protocol = tcp
wait = no
user = root
server = /usr/sbin/imapd
flags = IPv4
}

How can I sovle this problem.??

What imap package are you using?

rpm -qa | grep imap

Sir I am using

IMAP package for both pop3 and imap protocol .

which is controlled by the file

/etc/xinetd.d/imap

(On RHEL4 i uses Dovecot for imap )

If you go into the squirrelmail directory and run conf/conf.pl and go through the menu to find the server config, there is an option to login using cram-md5 or digest-md5.
