At the moment, im only able to do sound capturing (from the analog line in) in root mode.

Using audacity in root mode, i can select my Sound Blaster Audigy both, for recording an playback.
Back again as a normal user, i'm only able to select the OSS for capturing, and this doesn't work (error message when pushing the "record" - button). But im still able to use the Audigy for playback.
Under another program, wine/mp3DirectCut it's the same problem, so it seems not to be application - specific.

I'm using A Vector Linux/Slack distro, i've tryed the configuration tool but the problem isn't resolved (it seems that under Vector Linux there is no alsaconfig or alsaconf tool, but the vasm - Configuration tool does nearly anything automatic without asking).

Does anybody knows a solution or at least a starting point for resolving this problem ?

The solution is

as root in /dev/snd (the alsa devices)
#chmod o=rw- pcmC*D*c

(sets rw rights for all captuer devices for all users)
