i was using Redhat 9.0 and then i installed enterprise 3.0 redhat, my sound card was working properly, but as i installed fedora core3 can't hear any sound on my PC (pentium 3 d815 sound card sound max), and on another pc (pentium 4 d845gbv2 sound card sound max new builtin was working ) after increasing voulme of sound system and from Computer hearing very low output, is there any solution of that. thanx for helping, and reading

do "alsaconf" make sure it finds the correct sound card. If it does hit enter a few times. after it's all done do "alsamixer" set everything to what you like then do "alsactrl store" to save the volumes you just did in alsamixer.

If you tried all of that and still no luck, you could compile alsa with the proper sound card driver for your soundcard which isn't too hard!
